basketball club

We aim to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for people living in and around the Belconnen community, to learn and develop as athletes and individuals, through their involvement in the sport of basketball.

A club for all

Belconnen Ramblers has been established as a foundation club within the ACT Basketball Association since the early 1970’s. We have over 350 players across Under 10’s to Under 19’s, Senior Premier League and Social leagues for those aged 18 to 80.

We find that many of our families are lifelong members, and we’re even starting to see third generation players coming through. i.e. grandparents, parents and children having all played for our club as some point.

We have a great family culture and are focused more on playing for the love of the sport, than winning championships. We still do well at winning our fair share of championships, but we know in winning, that every one of our players has had an equal opportunity to contribute.

Junior Premier League

Junior Premier League (JPL) is Basketball ACT’s highest level of junior club competition.

Ramblers has or had teams in Under 12 through to Under 19 competitions, in both boys and girls.

If you’re looking to play with the best of the best, or you think you have what it takes to lead a team to a JPL championship, please get in touch.

Senior Premier League

Senior Premier League (SPL) is Basketball ACT’s highest level of senior club competition.

Ramblers has maintained a top 4 position within the SPL competition for many years.

The SPL competition is a great pathway to representative and professional level competitions.

If you’re looking to play with the best of the best, or you think you have what it takes to lead a team to a SPL championship, please get in touch.

Senior Social

The Senior Social leagues provide an opportunity for players aging from 18 to 80, across the full range of competitions levels that cater to a variety of skill levels, fitness and competitiveness.

Ramblers is very proud of our Senior Social squad and the community is has brought together. We have several men’s, women’s and mixed teams completing each week.

If you’re interested in making new friends, joining some likeminded individuals or just need a bit more motivation to do some regular exercise, our Senior Social squad could be for you so please do get in touch.

Junior Competitions

The Junior Competitions provide an opportunity for teams to complete in Divisions 1 through to 6, for ages from Under 10’s to Under 19’s, in both boys and girls.

Ramblers has teams across all age groups and in most divisions. We’re sure to have a team for you if you’re interested in playing for our Club.

Junior Competitions

At the start of each year, we run Trials for each age group and gender. These Trials are open to anyone to come along and participate without any obligation to commit. From the Trials, we will place you in a team with players of similar skill levels and age. We then nominate you in a division that you will be competitive in. We want our teams to win and loss games as life lessons come from both.

If you are unable to make trials, or looking to join us mid-season, this is still ok, all you need to do is to get in touch.

Local Tournaments

Rambles regularly enters teams in to tournaments outside of the other mentioned competitions. This includes tournaments held by Basketball ACT but can also be organised by other clubs or associations.

A Good Sports member club

Good Sports is an Australia-wide program that supports and inspires community sporting clubs to set up a better environment for players, volunteers, supporters and officials. They help clubs tackle tricky topics such as alcohol, drugs, smoking/vaping, mental health and safe transport.

Good Sports has been helping build strong community sporting clubs across Australia for over 20 years. Today more than 11,000 clubs from over 100 sporting codes are proud to be a part of the Good Sports team. Click here to learn more about the program
