Apply for a refund
Refunds are at the committee's discretion, under the club's Refunds Policy (POL-011). Read when a refund may be granted, then send your application to the Treasurer below.
When a refund may be granted
Registration fees cover costs the club takes on before a season starts — Basketball ACT registration, team nominations and preparation — so refunds are generally not given once a season has begun.
Full refund
Less any Basketball ACT registration costs that can't be recovered.
- You ask before the season starts, and before registration costs have gone to Basketball ACT.
- The club can't place the player in a team, for reasons outside the player's control.
Partial refund, at the committee's discretion
- A significant injury stops the player for the rest of the season — with medical evidence.
- The player moves outside the ACT region mid-season.
- Other circumstances the committee considers exceptional.
Generally no refund
- The player chooses not to play after the season has started, or changes their mind.
- The player is suspended or removed for disciplinary reasons.
- The player is unhappy with team placement or coaching decisions.
- The Basketball ACT registration component can't be refunded by Ramblers once it has been forwarded to Basketball ACT.
- On a payment plan: if a refund is approved the plan is cancelled and any refundable balance returned. The 5% payment handling fee isn't refundable.
- The committee reviews applications within 21 days and tells you its decision in writing. Approved refunds are paid by bank transfer within 14 days of the decision.
- Supporting documents, such as a medical certificate, go to treasurer@ramblers.net.au. If you disagree with a decision, you can appeal under POL-005 Complaints and Grievances.
