New to Ramblers
Whether you're bringing a child to their first trial or you haven't played since school yourself, this page is the fastest way to work out where you fit at Ramblers — and how to turn up.
No experience needed, not for you, not for your child
Most people who join Ramblers have never played organised basketball before. Junior trials are obligation free — turn up, play for an hour, and we place your child in a team with players of a similar standard, no cut and no pressure. Social senior teams work the same way: turn up, play, and we'll find you a spot. Coaches and team managers are parents and club volunteers, and someone will walk you through the first few weeks either way.
Juniors or seniors?
Juniors, U10–U19 — Junior Premier League through to Division 6, boys' and girls' teams in every age group, trials in August and February. See the juniors page for age bands and how trials work.
Seniors, 18–80 — Senior Premier League by invitation, and open men's, women's and mixed social teams Monday to Thursday, taking new players almost any week of the year. See the seniors page for how to join.

What to bring
Sports clothes, court shoes, a basketball if you have one, and a water bottle. That's it. Trials registration is free and there is no obligation to accept a place afterwards.
What it costs
A season fee covers training, coaching, Basketball ACT registration. There will be a one-off uniform cost in the first year for juniors and senior social. Current figures are published on the fees page and are set for each season.
Fees can be paid in equal regular payments across the year rather than in one lump. No one misses a season over cost — talk to the committee in confidence.
Where you'll be
Training and home games are in and around Belconnen and away games will be around Canberra. Your team manager sends venues and times before each round once you're placed in a team. Current training venues are published on the venues page.
